Black forest Inn

Brand Identity
Project Overview
The Black Forest Inn project was an exploration into identity in regards to a long-standing obelisk of Eat Street in downtown Minneapolis. After interviewing with the owner of the Black Forest Inn and refinement in what is already existing, most of the process pretty readily fell into place.
My Contributions
This project was roughly 8 weeks of heavy revisioning, research, and finding a cohesive system that works between multiple layers within a restaurant industry. Every piece within the identity needed meticulous and careful planning in order to deliver a recognizable form for the general audience, while maintaining a sense of tradition for the regular customers.
Being able to interview with the owner and spend time knowing the space was truly transformative for understanding more about the identity from which this project stems from. Intimately spending time in the space in which so much history informs everything from Black Forest Inn definitely contributed to making the identity of such an important historical part of Eat Street being solidified through a new, updated identity.

Many of my peers helped inform the revisioning that would truly propel this project forward.
